Current Tea Favorites

There is nothing that I like better than waking up on a Sunday morning and coming downstairs to make a cup of tea and cozy up on the couch to binge watch A Chef’s Table on Netflix. What can I say, I’m a simple creature of habit. I have had a lot of different kinds of tea through the years and I can honestly say that I have never met a tea I did not like (I also say that about wine!)! In fact, it is one of my bucket list dreams to have afternoon tea SOMEWHERE in England at least once in my life. I know…big dreams! Currently, I have a cupboard that is literally overflowing with tea. I like to call it a collection and you might call it tea hoarding but it’s all there and who knows if I’ll ever get around to drinking it all. Out of the bunch though there are a few that I continually reach for and they are all quite different but the one great thing they all have in common is that they are delicious!

Lipton Black tea — This is the cheapest tea that I own but don’t let the price point fool you…it is wonderful. I mean I don’t think they would print “America’s Favorite Tea” on their packets if they weren’t confident in the flavor of their tea. This tea makes great iced tea but to me it’s best hot with a little milk in it which is usually how I take my black tea. I’ve never been a coffee girl but if I need a little boost of caffeine I will always reach for black tea over a cup of coffee and this one more often than not.

Twinings Black Tea Variety Pack — This glorious pack holds four of Twinings classic black teas. I mean these people have been sourcing and blending their tea since 1706 so I think they know their shit. In this pack you will find English and Irish Breakfast Tea, Earl Grey, and my personal favorite Lady Grey teas. The flavor of these teas is out of this country (see how I did that?!…instead of world….cause their from England…different country…no?) and I haven’t had other teas with similar names that even come close to how good and comforting these ones are! They taste good with regular milk and also with almond milk too! Just try them and I promise you will not be disappointed!

Celestial Seasonings Sweet Harvest Pumpkin — Of all the pumpkin spice teas I have tried, and it’s been a lot, this one is hands down my favorite. It smells like a fresh pumpkin pie and tastes DIVINE! I like to mix in almond coconut milk with this one to make it the slightest bit more decadent. It’s a great fall drink but I drink it year round. Eat your heart out Pumpkin Spice Latte…

O Organics Green Tea — I’m going to be honest with you when I say that it took me a long time to get my taste buds to enjoy green tea. It generally doesn’t have a ton of flavor and a lot of times I felt like I went out to my yard and took some green leaves off a bush and mixed them with hot water…yum. Green tea has many health benefits and can help curb your appetite so I am all for drinking it. I personally like it iced with lemon but I also drink it hot with a squeeze of honey to sweeten it a bit.

Tazo Green Ginger — I may have a hard time getting behind drinking plain green tea but mix some yummy flavor in and I am on board! This tea has a hint of pear flavor in it along with the ginger and who knew they complimented each other so perfectly. Ginger aids in digestion so I drink this if I have a stomach ache but I also drink it any old-time when I want a lighter more refreshing tea.

Tazo Passion Tea — I saved the best for last! Ever since I first had this tea at a management class I took last year I have not stopped drinking it. I’m pretty sure I just purchased my 10th box of it. It has a sweet tartness to it that is so stinkin’ good and it is that good both hot and cold. It’s also the prettiest tea as the color is this deep magenta color. It’s to die for and I can’t recommend it enough!
