Life,  Life Lately

5 Things in October

Back in April, I wanted to start a sort of monthly gratitude post and I only posted that month. I think it’s important, especially since I have anxiety, to take the time to write down the good things I have going on in my life. This is so that when I’m having doubts and worries and feeling overwhelmed about how my life is going, I have written examples as a reminder that there is a lot of good. Here’s what I got up to over the last month.

Jake’s birthday was at the very beginning of the month. In the morning we decided to take a walk through the woods on Tiger Mountain near Issaquah, WA. It was a beautiful fall day and it felt really nice to be out in the woods. Later that evening I planned a get together with some of our close friends and we had a really nice evening!

The following week we drove out to Kanaskat-Palmer State Park to meet with our wedding photographer for an engagement photo shoot. It was such a gorgeous setting for these photos and they turned out so great! Our photographer is amazing! Go follow her on Instagram @kelseylynnphoto!

I LOVE Fall! It’s the season of chunky sweaters, boots, and pumpkin spice. Since I was a kid, decorating the house has been one of my very favorite things to do this time of year. When the first of October rolls around (sometimes before) I crack out all of my decorations for Fall and Halloween and get to work. I add to my collection each year and this year was no exception. When I’m done the house always feels so cozy and festive!

Last weekend, my friend Kristine, Jake and I all went out to some haunted houses. I am easily spooked so haunted houses really aren’t my thing but the first one we went to was so cool! It was a really fun evening getting a little spooky and then we had dinner together later in the evening!

On Halloween night, Jake and I got dressed up and went on a double date to a really awesome place called Cafe Nordo in Pioneer Square in Seattle. It is an immersive dinner theatre experience. They write their own plays and produce them in-house with a themed dinner to go along with the show. It was such a fun time and the food was delicious. Jake and I will be returning sometime soon to check out what other fun shows they have coming up!
