5 Things In October
I can’t believe how fast October came and went! I love the cooler temps, fall colors, and fun Halloween decorations! It was a busy month filled with a birthday, a baby shower, and lots of fun get-togethers with friends. Here are a few highlights from our October!
Jake’s Birthday
Jake’s birthday was at the beginning of the month and this year I decided to gift him with some experiences. On Friday night we went on a dinner and movie date. We went to a wine bar for dinner then watched The Joker starring Joaquin Phoenix. On Saturday, we went and played mini-golf at a place near our house and then after that I took Jake to a Seattle Thunderbirds hockey game. An eventful game complete with a brawl and our team came out victorious in the end. Afterward, we drove down to the McMenamins in downtown Tacoma and watched an Alice & Chains cover band concert. Then on Sunday the 6th, Jake’s actual birthday, we went out to lunch with my dad and some friends. 35 never looked so good!
Divorce: A Performance by Nicole McCarthy
The next week, my very talented friend Nicole had a performance that was sponsored by Artist Trust in downtown Seattle. The venue was a beautiful historic mansion on Capitol Hill and she had created lovely visuals that included old wedding photos, one of her bridesmaid’s actual bouquet, and her wedding dress. She had two of her colleagues do readings for the toasts and then she performed her piece. It was a beautiful evening and I could not be prouder of my friend! Check out her website here!
Escape Room Sunday
On Sunday the 20th, Jake and I went to an escape room in Redmond, WA with two friends. I had never been to one, but it was something that I always wanted to try. We didn’t escape but we had such a fun time. Afterward, we went bowling and then to a brewery and then out to dinner with another friend at a restaurant called Cactus in Kirkland! Check out the website for the Escape Room here, I highly recommend this location!
Café Nordo: Violet’s Attic
Last year on Halloween, Jake and I went with our friends Kristine and Cora to a place called Café Nordo in Pioneer Square in downtown Seattle for a night of immersive dinner theatre. We decided to make it a tradition and we went on Friday the 25th to see their newest creation Violet’s Attic. It was a fun night complete with a themed dinner and themed cocktails! If you’re interested check out their website here!
My Blog Series: The Wedding
I have had fun getting back into my blog this month and at the beginning of the month, I FINALLY got around to posting a collection of our wedding photos. Our photographers went above and beyond and we couldn’t be more thrilled with how our photos turned out. Check them out at the links below if you missed them!
