DIY Cozy At Home Spa Night
I have been to only a handful of spas in my life, but every experience always leaves me so relaxed. This year has really thrown us all a curveball and one of my favorite ways to try and forget about my worries for a while and relax is to do an at home spa night. Today I thought it would be fun to share how I put one together and share some DIY’s for the ultimate spa experience at home!
The first step to any great spa night is to create the spa like atmosphere. I am fortunate enough to have a dimmer for the lights in my bathroom but lighting a few candles and setting up some fairy lights can do the trick if you don’t. I also like to put on my Spa Radio pandora station to get even more in the mood for a relaxing evening.
Spa night is never complete to me if I don’t take a relaxing bath. You can read more about my bath time essentials in this post, and not a lot has changed since then except some of the products I use. I have a variety of bath salts, bubble bath, and bath bombs to make the room smell divine and create the most relaxing bath experience!
Right before I get in the bath I like to put a mask on. I have some clay masks and sheet masks but I came across this awesome DIY Hydrating Matcha mask that I had to try. Here’s how you make it!
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 tsp water
- 1 TBSP Matcha or Green Tea
- 1 1/2 tsp Honey
- 1 TBSP Olive Oil
Mix ingredients together and apply to face. Leave on for 10 minutes and rinse. I also like to cleanse my skin at this time as well!
After the mask and cleanse, I have been loving applying an eye mask. Currently trying out these Pixi ones and they are fantastic so far!
After the bath, I like to apply the rest of my skincare. I’ve been trying a few new products and hope to do a post letting you how I am liking them! I try and keep my skincare simple with very few products. Currently, I use a moisturizer, serum, SPF, eye cream, and I have an exfoliator that I use twice a week.
That was my at home DIY spa night but here are a few more ideas you could add to the evening to make it even more relaxing!
- Make DIY lip scrub! This one is super simple, just make sure not to over soften the coconut oil! You just mix the ingredients together and apply!
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 TBSP coconut oil, softened
- 2 TBSP white sugar
- 1 TBSP brown sugar
- Apply a hair mask
- Indulge in a moisturizing hand mask
- Try an at home mani and pedi
- If you don’t have a bathtub, try creating a spa like environment with your shower
- I had plain ice water but you could fancy yours up a bit with a few slices of cucumber and lemon, or have a nice glass of wine
