What I am Thankful for This Year

What a year this has been for all of us! Whenever I am having a rough time I like to practice a little bit of gratitude and what better time of year to do that than this?! Here are a few things I am thankful for this year!

Therapy/My Therapist

I have said it before and I will say it again, therapy is one of the best things I have ever done for myself. I will be forever grateful to my therapist for being able to seamlessly switch our meetings from in-person to video calls at the beginning of the pandemic. Having my regular meetings has helped keep me grounded and has given me the ability to better work through my anxiety in a more mindful and introspective way.

Video Chats

A few years ago, my friend Kristine and I were fed up with going months without seeing each other so we set a coffee date once a week, and up until the beginning of the pandemic, we had pretty much seen each other once a week for the last few years! Unfortunately, that weekly coffee date was one of the first things we had to sacrifice and admittedly we have not been able to connect as much over the course of this year. What we have done though is have the occasional girl’s night over Google video chat with our other close friend Nicole and I live for evenings like these! I also have a monthly video chat with my friends Bri and Emily, who are two of my closest friends from college as well. There is nothing like getting together (from afar) with your closest girlfriends and having a good catch up!

My Husband

At the risk of sounding too lovey dovey, I don’t know what I would do without my husband. He is my best friend and partner and while this year didn’t look “normal” for us, I’ve really enjoyed the extra time with him. I am excited to see where this life will take us!
