DIY Pumpkin Pie Garland
I can’t quite believe it is November already! It seems like just yesterday I was putting up my Halloween decorations! To get in the spirit of the season I thought I would do some crafting! This garland is so cute and was so fun to put together! Read on to see how I did it!
Supplies:
- Tan felt – enough to make 7 triangles that are 4 “wide and 6” tall
- Dark orange felt – enough to make 7 triangles that are 4″ wide and 5″ tall
- Twine or string of your choice
- 7 large white pom poms
- Hot glue gun/hot glue
Step 1: Create a simple template. I used a piece of scrap paper and created 2 triangles that are 4″ wide and 6″ tall. Then I measured 1″ from the middle of one template and cut across to make a smaller triangle.
Step 2: Cut out 7 of the large triangles out of the tan felt and 7 of the small triangles out of the dark orange felt.
Step 3: Hot glue the dark orange triangle to the tan triangle making sure to match the tips of the triangles together.
Step 4: Cut a scalloped edge to the top of the tan felt to mimic pie crust. You can use a stencil for this but I just free-handed with my scissors!
Step 5: Attach the twine to the back of the pie piece using hot glue. I put 4″ in-between each piece of the garland. In order to better secure it, I also attached a small piece of scrap felt with hot glue over the twine.
Step 6: Using hot glue, attach one of the pom-poms to each pie piece on top of the dark orange to mimic a dollop of whipped cream! And that’s all there is to it!
