I think it’s fair to say that I have a thing for bat decor this year! I have seen signs like this all over Pinterest and Etsy and I decided I wanted to try my hand at making my own! DIY Halloween: Bat Swarm Sign

Supplies:

Wooden Sign (I thrifted this but I did see blank signs at Michaels)
White Acrylic Paint or White Chalk Paint
Black Acrylic Paint
Pencil
Wooden Bat (not required, got this at JoAnn Fabrics)

Steps:

Paint the background of the sign with the white paint. I did 2 coats of acrylic and then decided to do a third coat with chalk paint and found it covered what was on the sign better.
Paint the frame of the sign with black paint. I did two coats and taped around the edge so I could avoid getting black paint on the white.
If you have one, paint the wooden bat with the black paint. I did two coats.
Using hot glue, attach the wooden bat to where you want it on the sign.
I don’t have a Cricut machine so I hand drew my bat swarm. I did all different sizes and shapes of bats. I know that a Cricut machine would have made this look a lot neater but I am working with what I got!
Paint the bat swarm. I went over each bat twice!
