Last Minute Costume: Moira Rose

I love Schitt’s Creek! The acting is on point and the writing is hilarious! While I am sad that the show is over, I don’t know how it could have gotten better. It is the perfect comfort show. I loved Dan and Eugene Levy and Annie Murphy but the most iconic character was Catherine O’Hara as Moira Rose! She made me laugh till I cried at times and the costumes she wore were amazing! When I was coming up with last-minute costume ideas, I had to create a Moira Rose look!

Last Minute Costume: Moira Rose

Up front, there is one thing I would update on this look and that is to paint my nails black and add a red lip. I also have another necklace on but unfortunately, it slipped inside the top of the dress.

First I picked out my dress. I bought this for our honeymoon in Bali. It is so comfortable and fits in all the right places! I love the ruche detailing on the top part and that it can either be an off the shoulder look or a regular cap sleeve look.

Moira likes to layer so I knew I wanted to add a shirt under the dress. She also wears a lot of black and white which I have a ton of in my wardrobe! I decided on this dalmatian print shirt that I picked up from Torrid a few years ago. It’s a bold pattern and adds interest to the outfit. I also think a classic white button down would work just as well!

Lastly, for the finishing touches, I put on a pair of black tights and my chunkiest boots. I love the look of these boots with the black tights. It just feels like a Moira look this way! My necklace is old costume jewelry that I have literally had since high school. And the final touch was lining my eyes in black eyeliner! Despite the two small changes I would make, I love how this look turned out!
