DIY Halloween Decor: Ghostie Yard Decor
While I have always decorated the inside of my house for Halloween, my outdoor decor has been lacking. I always have lights on the porch, a few pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns, and a festive doormat but that’s about it! This year I wanted to expand what I was doing with the yard but I didn’t want to spend a fortune on one of those huge skeletons or lawn ornaments from Home Depot.
So, one night when Jake and I were taking a walk through our neighborhood, I noticed some little ghost yard decorations in someone’s yard! I thought they were the cutest and I knew I had to try and make some of my own! They are so much fun and I love how they turned out! I think this is just the beginning of my yard decoration collection! Continue reading to see how I made them!
DIY Halloween Decor: Ghostie Yard Decor
Supplies:
- Plastic Poster Board (I recommend white but I only had black)
- Scissors or exacto knife
- Garden stake or paint stir stick to make into a stake
- Tape (paint or shipping tape)
- Black acrylic paint or a Sharpie
Instructions:
- Draw your ghost shape on the poster board and cut it out using scissors or an exacto knife. I ended up using both.
- Paint or draw your ghost’s eyes and mouth. Please note for my project I needed to paint my ghosts white because I was using black poster board.
- Attach your garden stake to the back of your ghost using tape. For a more permanent situation, you can use glue.
- Stake in your lawn and enjoy!
