DIY Simple Fall Wreath
This is the first year I will be displaying a Fall wreath on my front door. I am not sure why I haven’t before but I think it’s because I’ve never found one that I loved enough to buy. We just came off a month full of DIY decor for Spooky Season so I thought I would just continue and make my own Fall wreath. I didn’t want anything super huge but in hindsight, this wreath was a bit smaller than I was thinking. I still love the way it turned out and it’s the perfect simple vibe I was going for.
I love the look that the dried floral stems give. The vibrant colors have such an impact. It was so simple to put together and the only thing I needed to purchase was the wooden wreath base! I am happy to have this displayed on our front door until Thanksgiving.
DIY Simple Fall Wreath
Supplies:
- Wreath base – mine is from the Dollar Tree
- Dried Florals – I purchased mine last year at Hobby Lobby. Similar here on Amazon!
- Floral wire – I got mine a few years ago at Joann’s
- Brown paint
- Twine
Method:
- Paint the base with the brown paint. I used a nutmeg shade from Folkart. I love the shade and it works well with the colors I used in my dried florals.
- Start laying out the larger florals along the wreath base and attach them using the floral wire. Make sure to overlap nicely so that you mask the base as best you can.
- Once the larger stems are attached, go through and tuck the smaller pieces in how you like them. Make sure you lift up the wreath as you go so you are getting the symmetry and fullness that you want.
- Hang on your door using the twine.
