Easy Felt Tree Christmas Ornaments

Welcome to day 5 of 7 days of DIY Christmas ornaments! These DIY felt trees will be the perfect addition to your Christmas tree. They are a bit more involved than some of the other ornaments but the impact they make when they’re done is splendid! You’ll be able to keep these for years to come and I think they would make great gifts for friends and family too!

Easy Felt Tree Christmas Ornaments

Supplies:

  • Felt
  • Embroidery Floss in Red and Green
  • Embroidery Needle
  • Pillow Stuffing
  • Twine

Instructions:

  1. Create a stencil of a tree and trace it onto your felt. Cut out two for each tree.
  2. Using the red embroidery floss, create little crisscrosses on one of the trees. I traced little cross hatches on the tree as a template but this isn’t necessary, feel free to create your design as you add the crisscrosses.
  3. Using the green embroidery floss, begin stitching the front and the back of the tree together. Be sure to leave the bottom open.
  4. Stuff the tree with a small amount of pillow stuffing. I used a popsicle stick to ensure that the stuffing fills to the top of the tree.
  5. Stitch the bottom of the tree closed.
  6. Add a loop of twine to the back to create the hanger.
