How to Make Chive Blossom Vinegar

Chives are one of the easiest herbs to grow and if you let them, they will spread everywhere in your garden via the seeds from their cute little flowers. My chive plant has been going strong for about 9 years! Over the last few years, I have been shouting from the rooftops how much I love using the chive blossoms in my cooking. They are pretty and add a nice mild onion-y flavor to salads or any dish you want to top using them. Another fun way to use them is to make vinegar to make salad dressing! Today, I am going to show you how!

How to Make Chive Blossom Vinegar

Ingredients:

  • Chive Blossoms
  • Vinegar (I used white wine vinegar)

Method:

Mix your chive blossoms with vinegar in an airtight container. Let them steep for 3-7 days. When you are ready to use, strain out the flowers and enjoy! The more blossoms you use and the longer you let it sit, the more flavor you will get!

This is day one, the vinegar will turn a lovely shade of purple over the course of a few days!
