DIY Decor: Updating my Halloween Wreath
Last year I decorated this wreath I bought at Value Village for Halloween! I decorated it in a way that I could easily remove what I did and update it. This year I came across a cute idea on Pinterest (duh) and decided I wanted to update what I had done last year. I LOVE how this update turned out. When you open the storm door or our front door, the wings on the bats kind of flutter which makes the wreath kind of come to life. Check out the details on this update below!
DIY Decor: Updating my Halloween Wreath
Supplies:
- Grapevine wreath
- Book pages (I thrifted my book last year and used it for this cute ghost garland)
- Black Sharpie or Black Marker
- Floral Picks (I reused some that I already had in the wreath)
- Scissors
- Hot Glue
Method:
- I started by removing all of the decorations from the wreath that I added last year.
- Draw a bat shape on a piece of paper, this will be your stencil. Then trace your stencil on however many book pages you want. Cut our your book page bat shapes.
- Using the sharpie or black marker, outline each bat with a thin black line. This doesn’t need to be perfect but I think it makes the bat shape stand out better once it’s on the wreath.
- Lay out a few bats on your wreath and once you like the configuration, start hot glueing them in place.
- Once all my bats were glued on, I added in a few of the picks I used on my previous year’s wreath.
