DIY Decor: Little Floating Ghosts
Ghosts have been a favorite decoration feature of mine for a long time. They are so cute and the shape is relatively easy to get right. This isn’t even the last ghost DIY decoration that I will be sharing this month. I got this idea when I was thinking about the floating witch hats I shared a few years ago. The thought of having cute little floating ghosts hanging around seemed too cute to not share for this year’s Blogtober! It only takes a few materials and you’ll have your very own hoard of floating ghosts in no time!
DIY Decor: Little Floating Ghosts
Supplies:
- 1.3″ Styrofoam Balls (Here use code TAKE40OFF for 40% off any regularly priced item from now until 11/02/2024)
- Fabric Quarter in White (Here)
- Fishing Line or Clear Thread (Here)
- Clean mini rubber band *optional
- Needle
- Scissors
- Fine tip black pen or marker (Here)
Method:
- Cut your fabric into quarters. Wrap the styrofoam ball in the middle of one of the quarters. To make things easier on you, I recommend securing the fabric over the ball using a mini rubber band, but if you don’t have that, you can tie it with clear thread.
- Once the fabric is secured to the ball, use the needle to pass the clear thread through the top of your little ghost. Secure the end at whatever length you desire to create the hanger for your floating ghost.
- Draw the eyes and mouth onto each ghost using the fine-tip black pen.

I’ve got lots more fun DIY’s coming up this month and I hope you’ll follow along! If you liked this project, I would love it if you shared it with someone you know would like it too! And, if you recreate it, I would love it if you tagged me so I can see your creation! You can check out previous Blogtober posts here.
