DIY Decor: Tomato Cage Ghost

Towards the end of Summer, I saw this DIY all over Instagram. I knew it was something I wanted to try and it turned out better than I thought it would. The nice thing about this project is that I only had to buy the styrofoam ball for the head! I love how it looks on my porch but I plan on putting him down on my path for the trick-or-treaters to see when they come to get candy on Halloween night! He’s a pretty cute welcoming committee if you ask me!

DIY Decor: Tomato Cage Ghost

Supplies:

  • Large Styrofoam Ball (Here)
  • White bed sheet or large white piece of fabric
  • Black craft foam with adhesive back (Here)
  • Tomato Cage (Here) Mine was old and I had to shorten the legs using an angle grinder for the sheet to fit.
  • Battery powered white lights *optional

Method:

  1. Turn the cage upside down and gather the legs together and secure them.
  2. Shove the styrofoam ball to the legs.
  3. Cover the cage and ball with your sheet and adjust it to drape how you like it.
  4. Cut out two eyes from the black craft foam and apply them to the sheet.
  5. If you want to add a glow, add lights underneath the sheet.

I’ve got lots more fun DIY’s coming up this month and I hope you’ll follow along! If you liked this project, I would love it if you shared it with someone you know would like it too! And, if you recreate it, I would love it if you tagged me so I can see your creation! You can check out previous Blogtober posts here.
