5 Simple No Carve Pumpkin Ideas

I love carving pumpkins and have since I was a kid. Every year, we have a pumpkin-carving party where we get together with our friends and their kids to watch Halloween movies and carve pumpkins! But, it becomes a HUGE mess that I always kind of dread cleaning up afterward. I carve pumpkins because it’s fun and because I love roasting pumpkin seeds but I understand why people look for alternatives to carving pumpkins this time of year. There are some really fun options for no-carve pumpkins and I will share with you 5 of my favorites today!

5 Simple No Carve Pumpkin Ideas

1. Drip Painting

There are so many cool combinations you could do with this technique. I love this tutorial from Better Homes and Gardens. The only supplies you’ll need are a pumpkin and some acrylic paint!

2. Polka Dots

There are so many ways to decorate with dots but I thought that this design from Seakettle was so cute!

3. Paint Splatter

I tried this technique on my own and it turned out so cool! You could do so many color combos with it but I chose a black base and orange and white splatters. I painted the pumpkin and the stem with a matte black acrylic paint. For the splatter I put a little of each color on a pallete and mixed a little bit of water with each and then splattered it onto the pumpkin with one of my paintbrushes. It is super easy but I love the effect the splatters make on the side of the pumpkin!

4. Thumbtack Pumpkin

Who would have thought that the humble thumbtack could be used to make such an impact when decorating a pumpkin! This idea is from Country Living (number 90) and they have so many ideas over there on different ways to decorate your pumpkin!

5. Stickers

I know that Amazon has packs with stickers you can put onto pumpkins to give them faces but what I am talking about here is buying other fun festive stickers like these 3D spider stickers or googly eyes and decorating your pumpkin using those! So easy and super cute!

I’ve got lots more fun DIY’s coming up this month and I hope you’ll follow along! If you liked this project, I would love it if you shared it with someone you know would like it too! And, if you recreate it, I would love it if you tagged me so I can see your creation! You can check out previous Blogtober posts here.
