DIY Decor: Easy Spider Web Frames

I’ve done a few fun spider projects here on the blog over the years but I think this one might be my favorite! How cute do these spider web frames look?! I love the huge impact something so simple can have on your Halloween decor. They are the perfect addition to my collection. I had everything I needed with the exception of the picture frames but this project could easily be done on a budget. I encourage you to give this one a try and let me know what you think!

DIY Decor: Easy Spider Web Frames

Supplies:

  • Wooden picture frames: Thrifted from Value Village
  • Paint: I used matte black spray paint for the 2 black frames and white chalk paint for the white frame.
  • Black Yarn: (Michael’s Here)
  • Staple Gun & staples (Make sure the staples are short enough so they won’t go through the frame)

Method:

  1. Remove the glass, backing, and any contents from your picture frames.
  2. Paint your frames with the desired colors. Make sure you cover any surface that can be seen when the frame is hanging up. I did two coats of paint on each frame.
  3. Staple the end of your yarn to a starting point on the back of your frame. Be sure to hammer the staple in so that the yarn won’t pull out from under the staple. Pull the yarn tight to a different point on the opposite side of the frame and staple it in place, hammering it down as well. Repeat this step making sure that the yarn is intersecting at the same spot in the middle until you have as many lines as you want. I think 3 pieces of yarn worked perfectly.
  4. Starting at a point near the middle (intersection point) tie a piece of yarn around each strand going around the intersection point until you’ve made a wonky shape. Repeat this step higher up on the strand until you have as many wonky circles as you like.
  5. Hang on a gallery wall or out on your porch for some Halloween fun!

I’ve got more fun DIY’s coming up this month and I hope you’ll follow along! If you liked this project, I would love it if you shared it with someone you know would like it too! And, if you recreate it, I would love it if you tagged me so I can see your creation! You can check out previous Blogtober postsΒ here.
