2 Homemade Valentine’s Card Ideas
Jake and I don’t formally celebrate Valentine’s Day. We make sure to spend time together, make a nice dinner together, and share a delicious dessert. What we haven’t done always is give each other a card and honestly, I can’t justify the expense of buying a special card for Valentine’s Day. So, in an effort to get a little more creative, I wanted to create a few different card designs that you can make for your loved ones this Valentine’s day!
2 Homemade Valentine’s Card Ideas
Dotted Heart Outline
Supplies:
- Acrylic Paint in your preferred colors (I used 2 colors)
- Q-tips
- Cardstock or Watercolor Paper
- Fine tip pen
- Cut out a heart that fits the front of your card. Tape it in place to the front where you want it by making tape loops and applying them to the back of the shape. You don’t want any tape outside of the shape.
- Using a Q-tip, dot one of your colors around the heart. Repeat this with your second color by alternating the dots.
- Repeat until the front is filled to your liking. Let the paint dry.
- Remove the heart shape you taped on.
- Using a fine tip pen, write whatever note you want in the middle of the heart shape.

Watercolor Hearts:
Supplies:
- Watercolor Paper
- Watercolors in your desired colors, I mixed colors using red, crimson, and white
- Paintbrushes
- Fine tip pen
- Being by painting hearts at random all over your card. I used different color shades and different sizes until the front of my card was filled up to my liking.
- Allow the paint to dry.
- Using a fine tip pen, outline and write little love notes on random hearts.

Let’s be friends!
