Life Lately: June 2025
June was a difficult month. I think every month going forward will be difficult since my dad died. But, it was also filled with connections. Connecting with friends whom I haven’t seen in years and friends who are from my past job, and friends who are like family. These connections kept me from staying in bed all day, which seems to be an urge I have quite often these days. Here is what we got up to in June.

Life Lately: June 2025
Point Defiance Flower & Garden Festival
At the beginning of June, I joined our friend Rose and her husband Greg at the Point Defiance Flower & Garden festival in Tacoma. It was a beautiful day wandering around the festival and then we ended up in the wine tasting garden with live music!

Dinner with old co-workers
My last corporate job was a difficult one, but I made some really great friends. It doesn’t happen often, but once every few months we get together for dinner to catch up. Unfortunately, our friend Tyanna moved to Colorado, so this dinner was the last one with all of us for a while. We had a great evening laughing and catching up!
Trip to Oregon
At the end of the month, I went down to the Oregon coast to spend time with two of my friends from high school. Chelsea lives in Seaside, OR, so my friend Taylor and I hit the road and drove down to see her for the weekend. We had not hung out since high school but have kept in touch at various times throughout the years. When my dad died, they both came to the funeral, and that’s when we planned to get together.
It was a nice and relaxing weekend. We got a tour of Seaside, visited Cannon Beach, did some shopping, ate some delicious food, and just caught up with everything. I hope that we can make this into a more regular thing. I cherish their friendship so much.

Our 6th Wedding Anniversary
June 15th marked 6 years since Jake and I got married and shortly after marked 12 years together. It’s been a wild ride and this year is testing us both but there is no one that I would rather fight these battles with than him. So thankful for him every day!

Surviving Father’s Day
Father’s Day was so difficult this year for obvious reasons. I spent the morning in the garden trying to connect with Dad, and then spent the rest of the day celebrating my anniversary with Jake. It was a day full of mixed emotions, but I was so happy to have the anniversary distraction.

Let’s be friends!
