DIY Halloween: Flying Bats
One decoration I saw on Pinterest more than any other was the bat decals in various patterns on mantles, walls, and porches. Basically anywhere you can stick a bat there is a Pinterest pin for it! I looked for the decals on Etsy and Amazon and while the prices aren’t super high for them, I knew that I could do them for cheaper. I have been meaning to do this project for a few years now and I am so glad I finally got around to it! If you recreate this tag me in your photos over on Instagram! DIY Halloween: Flying Bats Supplies: Black paper (make sure it’s not…

DIY Halloween: Spiderweb Wreath
If you know me or have ever looked at my Instagram or Blog during the holidays you know how much I LOVE to decorate! I enjoy adding to my collection of decor every year and decided that I wanted to do more DIY decor this Halloween! So I hit up Pinterest for ideas and this series of DIY Halloween was born! This first project is so cute! I have one wreath for this time of year and it is a cute little glittery black one that looks like branches. I decided I wanted a new wreath and that I wanted to make one instead of buying one as they can…

My House at Christmas
After a long year, Christmas is finally here! Here’s how I decorated our house this year! I was very inspired by the greenery of the evergreen Christmas trees and you’ll see a lot of it on my porch and in various parts of the rooms, I decorate year after year. I think the decorations this year are my favorite ones that I have done yet! I hope you like them and I am wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas!

My Porch at Christmas
It’s only in recent years that I have focused more on decorating our front porch for the holidays. It’s not a very big space but I have felt so inspired to make it feel as festive as possible (see my Halloween decor post here)! I am so proud of the Christmas design this year that I thought I would make my porch decorations their own post! My Christmas decor aesthetic is very Christmas traditional. I love greenery, deep reds, cream and off white, and some natural elements and colors thrown in. Last year on the porch I bought some faux garland from Michaels and started it on the small brick…

My Fall Decor
One of my favorite things to do with Halloween and Fall decorations around my house is to use pieces that can pull double duty for both occasions. This year I bought so many pumpkins and to me, they really are the symbol of the season. For Halloween, I spread the pumpkins out to different areas of the house but for my fall decorations, I concentrated the real ones and the various faux ones to my mantle. For the porch, all I did was switch out the standing sign, the welcome sign, and the welcome mat. The pumpkins out there fit in perfectly with the rest of the fall decor! I…

I hope you enjoy it and be sure to send me photos of how you’ve decorated this year!

DIY Halloween: Character Blocks
This has to be my favorite craft project of the bunch. These little character blocks turned out so cute! I hope you give them a try! Here’s what you’ll need: Square wooden dowel Acrylic paint (black, white, orange, green, purple) A piece of stick from the outdoors (for the jack-o-lantern stem) Black pipe cleaners Paintbrush Hot glue/hot glue gun Cut 5 2″ pieces from the wooden dowel. To save your arms, I recommend using an electric saw but I used a hand saw for these. Paint each block in a different color. I did two coats on these. For the Vampire, I painted the top black and made brought it…

DIY Halloween: Candle Holders
The inspiration for this project came from Pinterest! I think the glow of candles instantly makes things feel cozy which is what you want this time of year! I used these glass hurricane candle holders that I picked up at the dollar store but a mason jar would work just as well! These flameless candles are from Amazon! Here’s what you’ll need: Hurricane candle holder or mason jar Frosted glass spray paint Black acrylic paint Paintbrush Flameless candle Wash and completely dry your candle holders. In a well-ventilated area (I did this in my garage with the doors open) follow the instructions on the spray paint canister and frost the…

DIY Halloween: Witchy Laundry Line
I love a good holiday banner! I got the inspiration for this cute witchy laundry line over on Etsy! It’s super simple to do and I love the way mine turned out! Feel free to use different colors than me to make it your own! Here’s what you’ll need: Colored felt squares Colored thin ribbon Mini clothespins Twine Paper (for the stencil) Tailor’s Chalk Hot glue/hot glue gun Scissors Draw your templates on sheets of paper. For the dress, I folded the paper in half so that it would be symmetrical and for the collar, I used the neckline of my dress template so it would match when I glued…
