    Favorite Cookbooks

By now you know I have a weakness for buying personal development books. But you probably also could guess that I also have an obsession with cookbooks. I could spend hours in the cookbook section at the library and prefer that over the cookbook section at the book store mostly because I cannot buy the books at the library (Gotta save that $ for Spain and France in September!!). Another dangerous territory in my quest for all the cookbooks is Amazon and I find myself browsing and adding to my cart and before I know it there’s like 10 books in there and my order total is ridiculous! As it…

    Style Your Mind Workbook

Back in March when I went a little (and by little I mean a lot) crazy on Amazon buying books, one of them was this really amazing workbook called Style Your Mind. I decided to start it last week as part of my personal development time that I like to set aside a few times a week and I instantly fell in love. To begin, you write out your vision of what you’d like your life to look like. It’s not like getting super specific but rather a bigger picture. I looked into what my ideal life would look like and wrote what was in my heart and I am…

    My Little Black Dress

This post is probably not going to be what you think. I bought this dress circa 2006-2007. I knew at the time it probably wouldn’t fit me but I loved it and had to have it from the Forever 21 website. When it came I tried it on and low and behold it did not fit. Even though I had prepared myself for it not to fit, I still was disappointed. The sad thing was I was not disappointed that it didn’t fit me but that I didn’t fit in the dress. That is a tiny distinction but it exposed a HUGE insecurity. Instead of returning the dress and getting…

    Current Nighttime Routine

During the work week it is important to me to have a nightly routine to help me wind down before I go to sleep. In the past I would go to bed a various times during the week and a lot of times I would lay in bed scrolling through my phone and before I knew it the time would be 11 pm and I would still be wide awake. In an attempt to reduce that screen time and get a better night sleep I have implemented this night-time routine. It’s still a work in progress but I already am feeling more relaxed in the evenings! I try to go…

    Transformative & Motivational Books

In March I went a little crazy on Amazon and purchased several new books to add to my collection. Some were cookbooks but most of them are books I find to be motivational, transformative, and inspiring. As I was adding them to my book shelf I noticed that my collection of these types of books has grown so much in the last few years. Within that time I have been reading everything I can about learning to love yourself, taking control of your life, embracing change, letting go of things that are out of your control, and just being an all around badass boss babe! I have loved reading other…

    March Favorites

I watch favorites videos on YouTube all the time and I love seeing what people are loving from month to month. With this being my first favorite’s post I think it’s kind of a short list but here is what I have really been loving this month! SacconeJoly’s YouTube Channel I’ll be honest…I’ve been loving this for a long time now and I just need to share it with EVERYONE!!! It’s a vlog channel featuring this cute little family who live in the UK. They have two adorable kids with one more on the way. I can’t get enough of them and can sometimes find myself watching their past videos…

    Dealing with Stress

Have you ever had one of those days when you wake up thinking about every single thing you have to do on your seemingly never ending to do list? Have you gone to work where the to do list there seems to be getting longer by the minute and there are a million things that need to be done that day but there just aren’t enough hours? And finally you end up rage-crying (it’s a thing!) for 15 minutes at home that evening, taking out all that frustration on the person closest to you…it happens and it’s happened. I know all too well about feeling like there are a ton…

    My Bath Time Essentials

Follow my blog with Bloglovin When learning to live a happy and balanced life it is important to take some time out for yourself. One of my favorite ways to have “me” time is to take a relaxing bath. I’m not just talking about some water in a tub, I create a spa like atmosphere that leaves me feeling relaxed and refreshed. I light candles, add bubbles, turn on fairy lights…the whole nine yards! I find that being alone for an hour every now and then allows me to let go of a lot of the pent up anxiety or stress I may be harboring. I can zone out to…

Finding Your Exercise and Sticking to it

Over the years I have tried a ton of different types of exercise. I have tried everything from swimming, dance aerobics, yoga, Zumba (I have absolutely no rhythm), hiking, at home workout videos, and then there was that time I considered myself to be a runner which was short lived. Something that I have learned along the way is that variety and consistency go hand in hand, at least for me! I know that in order for me to stay consistent with my workouts, I absolutely must have variety. In fact, if I could give one piece of advice to someone who is trying to find an exercise program…
