Our Wedding: Best Day Ever
Our wedding day was one of the best days of my life. Everything from our venue, flowers, caterers, to our photographers and day of coordinator was a dream. It was everything I had hoped it would be and so much more. I have decided to split this into five parts since we have so many beautiful photos. This first set is of us getting ready and some of the details. I hope you enjoy! Caterer: Gallucci’s DJ: Evan at Alchemy Entertainment & Events Cakes: Corina Bakery Venue: The Kelley Farm Day of Coordinator: Megan Stone of The Stone Event Company Florist: Jessica at JnJ Floral Photographers: Kelsey & Kyle Cody…

5 Things In September
It certainly has been a long time since I have posted in this space. The process of planning our wedding took a lot of time and energy and it was just easier to focus on that for the time being. Since getting back from our honeymoon we’ve been settling into married life which is very similar to our pre-married life except I get to call Jake my husband in conversations with others! I will be honest though, I have been suffering from the post-wedding blues and have found it difficult to motivate myself back into any sort of routine be in posting to my blog, exercising or consistently packing my…

Goal A Month: January
I shared a little bit in a previous post about how I am approaching goals for 2019. The plan is to create healthy habits that build up to help me reach the larger goals I have for myself. To do this, I have created a plan for each month and each habit I hope to develop. I’ve also made it a point to tap into my “why power” to really get to the heart of why I want to develop this habit. By doing this I have built in motivation! For January, I really wanted to focus on becoming an early riser. A few years ago, I got up early…

My Simple 2019 Bullet Journal Planner Spread
Buying a new planner has always been one of my favorite new year traditions. I love flipping through a newly purchased planner and adding my important dates but a lot of times I find either the planner doesn’t have exactly what I need or it has way more than what I need. This year I decided that instead of shelling out the dough for a new planner, I would bust out a bullet journal that I bought over a year ago and create my own. The time is takes to do this may seem a bit overkill but this planner layout I have created for myself is simple and functional.…

Body Positivity And Wedding Dress Shopping
A few months ago, I made an appointment for wedding dress shopping at a boutique in Seattle called I Do Bridal. For full disclosure, before we got engaged, I never dreamed about what my wedding would be like let alone what kind of wedding dress I would want to wear. So that I didnβt show up without a plan in mind I went to Pinterest and created a private board and began searching for my perfect wedding dress. Turns out I had a very specific silhouette in mind. I had paid for a premium appointment which meant we got a special seating area to try on dresses and the money…

2018 Reflections and a New Year Goal
It’s that time of year where we reflect on the past year and look forward to what we want to accomplish in the new year to come. The last year has been a tough one and I’ve worked really hard on a lot of personal things over the course of the last 12 months. Regardless of the trials though, I wouldn’t have changed a thing and I am lucky enough to have little nuggets of good times to help balance it all out. I am enjoying taking a walk down memory lane and really looking forward to what 2019 has in store! 2018 Reflections Unfortunately, the year began with the…

5 Things in October
Back in April, I wanted to start a sort of monthly gratitude post and I only posted that month. I think it’s important, especially since I have anxiety, to take the time to write down the good things I have going on in my life. This is so that when I’m having doubts and worries and feeling overwhelmed about how my life is going, I have written examples as a reminder that there is a lot of good. Here’s what I got up to over the last month. Jake’s birthday was at the very beginning of the month. In the morning we decided to take a walk through the woods on…

Remembering to Really Take Care of Your Physical and Mental Wellbeing
It’s been quite a while since I sat down and actually wrote a blog post. Over the last several months I have dedicated a lot of time to self-care both physical and mental. I am still in the midst of some lifestyle changes that, while they are imperative to my wellbeing, are taking some time getting used to. I think a lot of times we can forget that self-care is more than just taking a bubble bath and lighting some candles. Self-care can be as literal as going to the doctor. This became blatantly clear to me after I finally booked into an appointment with my new general practitioner. It…

How to Create Your Own Self Care Routine
It should come as no surprise by now that self-care is really important to me. It is something that I have focused a lot of my attention on over the last year and something that I think is vital to your well-being. The great thing about self-care is that it is completely different for every person and each routine is totally unique to their interests and needs. One person may love to go for long runs a few times a week and another may like to take short walks in the evening after dinner. Whatever it is, making sure we schedule time for ourselves during the week should be a…
