My House at Halloween 2020
Happy Halloween week friends! Here is my second annual Halloween decor post. Decorating for any occasion is one of my favorite things to do! For my house, I really focus on making the common areas as festive and cozy as possible. Those areas include the porch, powder room, family room, and kitchen! I hope you enjoy it and be sure to send me photos of how you’ve decorated this year!

Happy Hosting: Halloween Tablescape
For the second installment of my Happy Hosting series, I decided that a fun Halloween tablescape would be so fun to create. As with my Fall Tablescape, I focused a lot on texture. I started with the table covering. I dropped into Joann to see what fabrics they had available in their seasonal section and found this great vintage looking pattern! I also picked up the black and grey striped fabric that was giving me major Addams Family vibes! Once home, I started to lay the fabric out on the table to see how it would fit, I had purchased some of this webbing that people usually use to decorate…

DIY Halloween: Character Blocks
This has to be my favorite craft project of the bunch. These little character blocks turned out so cute! I hope you give them a try! Here’s what you’ll need: Square wooden dowel Acrylic paint (black, white, orange, green, purple) A piece of stick from the outdoors (for the jack-o-lantern stem) Black pipe cleaners Paintbrush Hot glue/hot glue gun Cut 5 2″ pieces from the wooden dowel. To save your arms, I recommend using an electric saw but I used a hand saw for these. Paint each block in a different color. I did two coats on these. For the Vampire, I painted the top black and made brought it…

DIY Halloween: Candle Holders
The inspiration for this project came from Pinterest! I think the glow of candles instantly makes things feel cozy which is what you want this time of year! I used these glass hurricane candle holders that I picked up at the dollar store but a mason jar would work just as well! These flameless candles are from Amazon! Here’s what you’ll need: Hurricane candle holder or mason jar Frosted glass spray paint Black acrylic paint Paintbrush Flameless candle Wash and completely dry your candle holders. In a well-ventilated area (I did this in my garage with the doors open) follow the instructions on the spray paint canister and frost the…

DIY Halloween: Witchy Laundry Line
I love a good holiday banner! I got the inspiration for this cute witchy laundry line over on Etsy! It’s super simple to do and I love the way mine turned out! Feel free to use different colors than me to make it your own! Here’s what you’ll need: Colored felt squares Colored thin ribbon Mini clothespins Twine Paper (for the stencil) Tailor’s Chalk Hot glue/hot glue gun Scissors Draw your templates on sheets of paper. For the dress, I folded the paper in half so that it would be symmetrical and for the collar, I used the neckline of my dress template so it would match when I glued…

Happy Hosting: A Fall Table
I never realized how much I loved hosting until we moved into our house a few years ago. There is nothing that gets me more excited for a get together than whipping up a bunch of crowd pleasing appetizers, decorating the patio for a birthday party or setting an elaborate table for the holidays! And since we are entering peak holiday season, I thought it would be so fun to start a feature called Happy Hosting where I share hosting inspiration for every occasion. I want to share everything from my favorite recipes to serve my guests, fun DIY party decorations, delicious cocktails and mocktails, fancy tablescapes, and other tips…

Favorite Holiday Films
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, my favorite place to be during the holidays is snuggled up on my couch with a warm blanket, a cup of tea, my husband, my cat while watching a Christmas movie! I have watched many Christmas movies over the years and there are those select few that I always have to watch! I thought it would be fun to share with you some of my favorite films to watch during this time of year! Christmas Vacation “Surprised, Eddie?… If I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn’t be more surprised.” Clark Griswold, Christmas Vacation Nothing kicks…

Decorating for Halloween
If you know me or have looked at my Instagram around the holidays you would know that I LOVE decorating. Beginning in September I get all my fall décor out and mix it in with my Halloween decorations! My philosophy with decorations is to ALWAYS go for the bargain unless there is a piece that you absolutely love and cannot live without. The clearance section and the discount bins at stores like JoAnn’s, Michaels, and Target are my jam for every decorating occasion! I also like to do holiday crafts when time permits. I don’t really have a theme when it comes to my decorating, I just use what I…
