Remembering to Really Take Care of Your Physical and Mental Wellbeing
It’s been quite a while since I sat down and actually wrote a blog post. Over the last several months I have dedicated a lot of time to self-care both physical and mental. I am still in the midst of some lifestyle changes that, while they are imperative to my wellbeing, are taking some time getting used to. I think a lot of times we can forget that self-care is more than just taking a bubble bath and lighting some candles. Self-care can be as literal as going to the doctor. This became blatantly clear to me after I finally booked into an appointment with my new general practitioner. It…

My Current Fitness Inspiration
I have always had a difficult time sticking to a fitness plan. I have tried several workout programs and some of them I have completed and others didnβt keep my interest peaked enough for me to finish. In the past I have gotten into habits of doing the same types of workouts day after day and would ultimately get discouraged and bored which would then lead me to quit my βplan.β After quitting (again) it would be anywhere from days to weeks until my next workout. If thereβs one thing I have learned after starting and stopping so much, itβs that starting up again after not moving your body for…

How to Create Your Own Self Care Routine
It should come as no surprise by now that self-care is really important to me. It is something that I have focused a lot of my attention on over the last year and something that I think is vital to your well-being. The great thing about self-care is that it is completely different for every person and each routine is totally unique to their interests and needs. One person may love to go for long runs a few times a week and another may like to take short walks in the evening after dinner. Whatever it is, making sure we schedule time for ourselves during the week should be a…

5 Things In April
When I first started this blog I was trying to do a favorites post once a month. My life at the moment doesnβt really allow a lot of time to try different products and I NEVER can seem to remember to write down things that I am using consistently. One thing though that I can look back on at the end of the month is memories that have been made or things that helped make the month that much better. And so the idea for another monthly post was born called β5 Things Inβ¦β Just as the title suggests, I am looking back on the past month and picking 5…

My Workout Diary
From week to week my workouts change. I used to be able to do the same routine every week but after a while it got really old. Currently, my only βscheduledβ workouts are my Wednesday night spin class and my Saturday morning walks with my dad. I always enjoy watching videos that show someoneβs weekly workout routines and what not so I thought it would be fun to keep a workout diary of my own to share with you guys! The week that I documented, all I seemed to want to do is cardio. I will be the first to admit that I have zero confidence in the weight lifting…

The Future You
What does your ideal life look like? One topic brought up in The Goddess Revolution discusses the βfuture you.β Ask yourself this, what would you do for your mind and your body each day or each week if money were no object and time wasnβt an issue? What would an ideal day in the life of the future you look like? I am almost certain that at one point or another we all have thought to ourselvesβ¦I want this to be different in the future. One of the things I think about the most and day dream about is what I want my life to be like. When I began…

Another Honest Food Diary
Last week I shared a new approach I am trying to my life. One huge hurdle I want to overcome is my negative relationship with food. I have been so focused on restricting myself and implementing impossible rules just to turn around and a few days later (in some cases the same day) after a junk food binge hating myself because I canβt understand why I donβt have the will power to stick to my plan. The truth is, I have stopped listening to my body and Iβve been trying to force her to do things she clearly doesnβt want to do. I need to strip things way back to…

A New Approach
A few weeks ago I read a wonderful book called The Goddess Revolution by Mel Wells. The book discusses getting out of the diet culture mindset and learning to listen to your body and get in tune with what it really needs. It gives you the tools you need to end the war you are in with your body to become comfortable in your own skin and embrace a fulfilling life free from rules, fad diets, and negative feelings regarding food, your weight, and your body. After finishing the book I realized how long I have based much of my happiness and self worth on the size of my body…

5 Things I Never Leave the House Without
At times my purse feels like a bag full of cement. Sometimes I let the things I throw in my purse to carry around get out of control. I kid you not, I once found $5.00 in change, a used tea bag (?!), a pocket watch, and a roll of dog poop bagsβ¦I donβt even own a dog! In an attempt to clean out my purse and give my arms and shoulders some relief, I wanted to identify a small inventory of items (aside from the essentialsβ¦ wallet, phone, keys, headphones, etcβ¦) that I can consider my necessities. Then if I go through my purse, I can easily remove things…

Books I’ve Read Recently
I feel like I go through phases with the material that I read. At one point I was devouring audiobook after audiobook of wonderful fiction and I felt like I would never get enough of it. Lately though my interest has shifted to personal development and I have been reading quite a bit lately. Along with listening to tons of podcast episodes I have been looking for inspiration on my bookshelf. Over the last year I have bought so many personal development books on Amazon and I decided to start reading them to see what kind of collection I have built up. I have definitely not been disappointed! Here are a…
