    Weekday Wardrobe #10

If you’ve been here for other weekday wardrobe posts or over on my Instagram (follow me @learning.to.bloom if you don’t already!) you’ll know that this is my winter uniform. I live in cozy sweaters, jeans, and sneakers during the fall and winter and this outfit is made up of some of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe. Believe it or not, I got this sweater at a Zara in Barcelona of all places and it was on that trip that Jacob proposed to me on so this sweater brings back many fond memories. I don’t care what anyone says, I will wear skinny jeans for the rest of forever. They…

The Herbs We Have Growing This Time of Year

We are here in zone 8b, and this time of the year there really isn’t a lot going on in our garden. One thing we do have though are some perennial herbs that stick around all year long! Herbs are one of my favorite things to grow. They are pretty to look at, they taste great in cooking, and they are easy to grow! If you’re new to gardening, I highly recommend starting with herbs and the ones below in particular! English Thyme I have a few different plants in various pots out in my garden and it’s no surprise that a lot of comfort recipes for this time of…

Skills I Want to Learn in 2022

I want 2022 to be the year where I tried new things, refined my knowledge in others, and learned skills that I have been wanting to try out for years! I thrive when I am learning and my hope is that with more knowledge will come increased confidence. Here are a few skills I want to learn or refine! 1. Learn how to use my new camera I dream of taking beautiful editorial photos for this blog and sharing snippets of my life via vlogging. My wonderful husband got me a beautiful new camera for Christmas and it has so many capabilities and I want to learn everything I can…

5 Simple Ways I am Putting Myself First to Kickoff 2022

When I decided to make 2022 the year of getting to know myself again and putting myself first, I thought of small things I could do to start the year on the right foot. Things that will bring me joy and make me feel like a goddess. Identifying ways to raise your vibration that you can apply to your life today will help get the ball rolling to a more confident and self-assured future for yourself! 1. Purchase new bras I am kind of embarrassed to admit that I rotate between three bras and have had said bras for over 2 years now. They are stretched out, the fabric is…

    3 Goals for August

I’ve done a few of these types of posts this year and for the most part, I have achieved what I set out to do in those posts. The reason I like setting goals for each month is that the time period is short and the goals I set can be part of the stepping stones towards achieving a bigger goal I have. This month I am focusing on self-care habits and creating a routine that works for me. I am feeling in a funk right now and am trying to shake it off. I am hoping the goals below will help me with that. 1. Workout 3 times per…

    3 Goals for April

Hi there! I took another hiatus for personal reasons at the end of February and all of March but I am back for April with fresh new content and a new posting schedule! My new schedule will be every Monday and Friday and I hope, an increase in some Insta-content in between! Back in February, I set myself three attainable goals for the month. They were simple and I was able to achieve them by making small changes to my routine and I would consider the month a success! I enjoyed myself so much I decided to set 3 more goals for April! 1. JOURNAL AT LEAST 4 TIMES PER…

    Easy Tomato & Leek Tart

Tomatoes are one of my all-time favorite foods, I have liked them since I was young. This recipe is one of my favorite ways to use the summertime tomatoes that I grow in my garden. Sometimes though, in the winter, I just really need that taste of summer and I always go back to this quick delicious recipe! I have some leeks growing in my garden currently and I thought that using one of the smaller ones would work great for this recipe. Ingredients 2 medium tomatoes (mine were on the vine) and 2-3 cherry tomatoes, sliced 1 small leek, finely chopped Feta cheese crumbles 1 TBSP fresh herb combo,…

    3 Goals for February

January always seems NEVERENDING. When February finally comes around, I feel like a whole year has passed already. That is a little dramatic, but it always feels like the longest month of the year and I just felt like setting some attainable goals for February would be just what I need to jump start the rest of this year! I decided not to set resolutions this year, but I like the idea of a few monthly goals to focus on. At this point in time, having some small goals to focus on will be helpful! 1. Pack lunch for work everyday Admittedly, I have been not the greatest at packing…

    My Fall Decor

One of my favorite things to do with Halloween and Fall decorations around my house is to use pieces that can pull double duty for both occasions. This year I bought so many pumpkins and to me, they really are the symbol of the season. For Halloween, I spread the pumpkins out to different areas of the house but for my fall decorations, I concentrated the real ones and the various faux ones to my mantle. For the porch, all I did was switch out the standing sign, the welcome sign, and the welcome mat. The pumpkins out there fit in perfectly with the rest of the fall decor! I…
