There are so many wonderful books on my shelf that are patiently waiting to be read. I turn 36 this month and one of the habits I am dying to cultivate for myself is to spend at least 20 minutes reading every day. I know it’s not a lot but I find that I am spending way too much time on my phone in the evenings and 20 minutes a day feels like an achievable goal. So, to get me excited about reading again, I have got a list of books that I want to read over the rest of the Spring and Summer seasons!

My 2023 Spring and Summer Reading List

Looking at this list may seem like a lot to get through but I think with my 20 minutes of reading a day, it is doable and really there isn’t a time limit on when these are to be finished. I just wanted to share with you what books I have coming up on my “to-be-read” list!

Happy Place by Emily Henry

I don’t think I have ever loved an author and their books as much as I love Emily Henry and her books! In my post about Reads that are Great for Your End of Summer Vacation I recommended two Emily Henry books. Her writing is so witty and hilarious and I easily get sucked into her stories and before I know it, the book is done when I want it to continue on forever!

Purchase Here on Amazon

101 Essays That Will Change The Way You Think by Brianna Wiest

This was definitely a book that I was influenced to buy. The various topics and ideas in the book are intriguing to me and I am excited to immerse myself into different ways of thinking!

Purchase Here on Amazon

Home Again by Kristin Hannah

I have read three other Kristin Hannah books. The Nightingale, Firefly Lane, and Fly Away. Each one had me ugly crying so I have avoided her books for a little while. But, I think I am ready to pull off the bandaid and dive into the book Home Again. I love her writing and she also lives in the Pacific Northwest and I love supporting writers from this region!

Purchase Here on Amazon

Tiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed

Ever since I read Wild, I have loved Cheryl Strayed’s writing and her advice on life is unmatched! Just being in the vicinity of the Eiffel Tower was overwhelming but when my now husband got down on one knee and proposed, I completely lost it and fell in love with the City of Light. I think I was in love with it all along but to be there with my future husband was an experience I will never forget!

I first read The Light of Paris by Eleanor Brown in 2021 and I loved it! So, when I was looking online for some new books to read I came across more of her work! She compiled personal stories from bestselling female writers about their connection to Paris. I can’t wait to get stuck into this!

Purchase Here on Amazon

The Hotel Nantucket by Elin Hilderbrand

Our neighborhood has one of those little community library sheds and I picked this book out because it looked like such a Summertime book! It has been a long time since I read the physical version of the books (mostly because I LOVE how Jim Dale narrates on Audible). I am almost through Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and will be starting Goblet of Fire after! I am really enjoying rereading them again. There is just something so fun and easy about them and I always feel transported which is what we all want in a good read! I always root for the main character and feel overcome with emotion when things finally work out for them with their love interest! Here are four reads that I highly recommend for your end of Summer vacation! The Newcomer by Mary Kay Andrews I love the way Mary Kay Andrews can tell a love story! This is a new release for her and it did not disappoint. She always writes a strong female leading character and her settings take place down South in quaint beach towns or charming Southern cities! This book comes with a little bit of suspense thrown in too which shakes things up a bit! Beach Read by Emily Henry Emily Henry is a new-to-me author but I quickly fell in love with her style of writing. It is witty and hilarious but also captures true emotion in the small moments that make up a good love story. Emily writes wonderfully complex female lead characters who I personally find so relatable that I feel like they could be a best friend! I loved this book! People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry I liked Beach Read so much, I immediately downloaded this book on Audible. A friends to lovers story is always so much fun to read because the feelings can be so all over the place and the author describes them so perfectly you can’t help but root for the two main characters to end up together already! Paris is Always a Good Idea by Jenn McKinlay This is kind of a cheat because I read this back in April and technically it doesn’t take place during the summer but I think this is a great candidate for a vacation read! Books about people who go traveling in search of themselves always appeal to me (I have read Eat, Pray, Love at least 3 times). This book takes the main character to Ireland, France, and Italy and I cannot even describe how much wanderlust I had once I finished this book! WHAT ARE YOUR SUMMER READING RECOMMENDATIONS? SHARE IN THE COMMENTS OR OVER ON INSTAGRAM!

The post Four Reads that are Great for Your End of Summer Vacation first appeared on Learning to Bloom.

I love a good beach read.
