I never realized how much I loved hosting until we moved into our house a few years ago. There is nothing that gets me more excited for a get together than whipping up a bunch of crowd pleasing appetizers, decorating the patio for a birthday party or setting an elaborate table for the holidays! And since we are entering peak holiday season, I thought it would be so fun to start a feature called Happy Hosting where I share hosting inspiration for every occasion. I want to share everything from my favorite recipes to serve my guests, fun DIY party decorations, delicious cocktails and mocktails, fancy tablescapes, and other tips and tricks I have picked up along the way! For the first installment of the series, I wanted to feature an over the top tablescape to celebrate my most favorite season! I realize that most places are still in lockdown but if you are able to have a small get together this Fall, I highly recommend going all out with this fun tablescape to wow your guests! For this tablescape, I focused both on different heights and textures. These cute dried flower arrangements tick both boxes. I picked up this fall-themed dried flower bouquet at Michael’s and just rearranged how I liked it in these cute little vases that I also picked up at Michael’s! The cute little felt pumpkins are in different sizes and colors and I picked those up in the bargain section at Target! I’ve had this burlap table runner for a few years now and I love how versatile it is as a decor piece season to season. This log round is new and from Michael’s as well. I decided to add the two metallic pumpkins to diversify the textures on the table and these are from the Dollar Tree! As I spoke about in my Halloween Decor post from last year, I love a good sort around the clearance and bargain bins to find a lot of my decorations. I also believe in splurging a little on a really perfect piece but for the most part, I don’t think decorations have to be super pricy. The gold chargers and napkin rings, I have had for a few years. We picked those up at Pier 1 and the napkins were a gift. I love the color of them and thought they matched the table decor beautifully! The champagne flutes are vintage and were given to me by my great aunt at my bridal shower, my great-grandpa and great-grandma drank from them at their 40th wedding anniversary back in 1988! I love that personal touch when it comes to decorations as well. It’s a great conversation starter and they really add a classy touch. I added two fall scented candles to the table to give a little ambiance and to immerse my guests in the season by engaging another one of their senses. The pumpkin shaped metallic one is from Target and the other one is old from Target, last year. If you create a tablescape of your own tag me in your photos on Instagram, I would love to see how you decorate! Also, let me know what you think of this series idea and if you have anything you’d want to see!
