2022 Word of the Year

I feel like I have tried every type of goal-setting strategy that is available. None of them have seemed to keep my attention for very long and as a recovering perfectionist, it’s hard to get past the “failure” at the end of another year. In 2021 I didn’t even set goals just promised to show up for myself but that turned out to be the easiest promise to break of them all. I am not deterred though and am approaching things a little differently this year.

I started seeing mentions on Instagram and Youtube of people who pick a word for their year. I read a few articles about it and decided that I wanted to do that for the upcoming year. And instead of setting super specific goals, I want to let the word guide me to a feeling and help me set intentions.

The word I have chosen for 2022 is “PERMISSION.” I want 2022 to be the year where I give myself permission to become the woman I have always wanted to be.

PERMISSION to…

  • Build the life I dream of
  • Take my side business to new heights
  • Build an online presence and community
  • Create
  • Be myself
  • Set boundaries
  • Take time off
  • Make time for hobbies
  • Learn new things
  • Love myself
  • Keep promises to myself
  • Be vulnerable

Permission to…put myself first!

Do you have a word of the year? Are you setting goals? Feel free to share in the comments or over on Instagram! Cheers to 2022!
