5 Things in October 2022

Happy Halloween! I know that we all say it a lot but, I really can’t believe how quickly October went this year! My love for all things Halloween, October, and blogging have made this such a fun month! I also realized that I haven’t done one of these posts since January 2020! What a year that was!

I also can’t believe that this is the last post for #Blogtober! It was so much fun posting this month and I hope to keep my posting momentum up, it just won’t be every single day! I hope you have enjoyed Blogtober and that you have enjoyed Spooky Season as much as I have! Here are my highlights from October 2022!

5 Things in October 2022

Blogtober!

Of course, I have to start with the obvious! This is the first time in the history of this blog that I have been able to post every single day for a whole month! It was so much fun coming up with post ideas and creating all of the content for Learning To Bloom and for over in my Instagram feed! Here are a few of my favorite posts from this month!

Time with Friends!

At the beginning of the month, my friend from Ireland was here with his new wife on the last leg of their honeymoon! Jake and I met up with them and some others from college for a lovely dinner at Six Seven, the restaurant that is at The Edgewater Hotel in Seattle! We went out for drinks after and it was such a great evening!

Then I was able to meet with my friend Taylor who I met in junior high for our monthly catch-up! We have just started this because before last month’s catch up it had been at least 4 years since we had last seen one another!

The next day I was able to head down to Tacoma to meet up with my cousin Lydia who is one of my closest friends and one of my favorite people! We went for a walk and then to lunch and then an unexpected trip to Costco where she purchased a 6′ tall Nutcracker for her Christmas decoration collection!

We had our friends Justin and Nora over with their kids for dinner and our annual pumpkin carving night! I introduced them to Halloweentown and Jake made delicious baked mac ‘n’ cheese!

My friend Nicole and her partner Terrell had a haunted housewarming party. I was able to catch up with my other friend Kristine and her partner Cora while we were there too. It was a lovely evening and I couldn’t be happier for Nicole and Terrell!

And lastly, my friends Emily, Bri and I have a group chat on Facebook messenger. This month we had a few video calls. I have known them since college and it is always fun to catch up with them!

This time has been so good for my soul!

Decorating the house!

If you’ve been around this blog for any length of time or have checked out my Instagram around the holidays, you know how much I LOVE to decorate my house. My goal every year is to make my house super festive and super cozy and this year I think that I achieved that! I also did a bunch of DIY decoration projects which turned out to be so much fun!

Festive outfits!

Last year I did a Spooky Season outfit series and had a blast! I decided to do another one this year for Blogtober but there were fewer outfits in it. Instead, I decided to try my hand at making Tik Tok videos and set myself a challenge to do a 31 Days of Spooky Season Outfit Series! It has been so fun coming up with different festive outfits every day. I think that it has helped me enjoy this season that much more! Go check out my previous Spooky Season outfit here on the blog and my series on Tik Tok!

Wolf Alice concert with Jake!

On October 13th, Jake took me to the band, Wolf Alice, in concert at The Showbox SODO in Seattle! It was the first time I had ever seen them live and I really enjoyed it! We went out for dinner beforehand and for drinks afterward and had a really great time enjoying each other’s company!
