The Herbs We Have Growing This Time of Year
We are here in zone 8b, and this time of the year there really isn’t a lot going on in our garden. One thing we do have though are some perennial herbs that stick around all year long! Herbs are one of my favorite things to grow. They are pretty to look at, they taste great in cooking, and they are easy to grow! If you’re new to gardening, I highly recommend starting with herbs and the ones below in particular! English Thyme I have a few different plants in various pots out in my garden and it’s no surprise that a lot of comfort recipes for this time of…

Weekday Wardrobe #8
I LOVE sweater weather. It’s likely not a surprise to you now that my uniform in the Fall, Winter, and early Spring is a sweater and jeans and when I saw this sweater at Target in this warm color I had to have it! It keeps me warm and looking cute on these cold dark days. In order to mix things up I added this button-up I purchased from Torrid in late Summer and it adds that little something extra! Skills I Want to Learn in 2022
I want 2022 to be the year where I tried new things, refined my knowledge in others, and learned skills that I have been wanting to try out for years! I thrive when I am learning and my hope is that with more knowledge will come increased confidence. Here are a few skills I want to learn or refine! 1. Learn how to use my new camera I dream of taking beautiful editorial photos for this blog and sharing snippets of my life via vlogging. When I decided to make 2022 the year of getting to know myself again and putting myself first, I thought of small things I could do to start the year on the right foot. Things that will bring me joy and make me feel like a goddess. Identifying ways to raise your vibration that you can apply to your life today will help get the ball rolling to a more confident and self-assured future for yourself! 1. Purchase new bras I am kind of embarrassed to admit that I rotate between three bras and have had said bras for over 2 years now. They are stretched out, the fabric is…

2022 Word of the Year
I feel like I have tried every type of goal-setting strategy that is available. None of them have seemed to keep my attention for very long and as a recovering perfectionist, it’s hard to get past the “failure” at the end of another year. In 2021 I didn’t even set goals just promised to show up for myself but that turned out to be the easiest promise to break of them all. I am not deterred though and am approaching things a little differently this year. I started seeing mentions on Instagram and Youtube of people who pick a word for their year. I read a few articles about it…

2021 Reflections
In 2021, I felt less direction, less focus, my boundaries have become non-existent, my self-care took a back seat, and I let stress consume me and let little things ruin my entire day. I took out my frustration on my husband and I spoke badly about myself and my body. I broke promises to myself over and over and have developed a lack of trust in myself and my capabilities. It was a hard year in my personal life. It’s heartbreaking to watch one of the people you love the most in the whole world self-destruct. Watch their depression, anxiety, and addiction take the driver’s seat and watch them hit…
