DIY Halloween: Trinket Pedestal
This was a last-minute addition to my DIY decor but I absolutely love the way it turned out and will likely be making more of different sizes! It was super easy to do and altogether the project cost me less than $10! The inspiration for this came from the candlestick I used for the project. Back in 2020 I did a really fun Halloween Tablescape! I always like to put some decor out in our dining room, I think it rounds out the decor spaces nicely in my house this time if year. One decoration I saw on Pinterest more than any other was the bat decals in various patterns on mantles, walls, and porches. Basically anywhere you can stick a bat there is a Pinterest pin for it! Happy Hosting: Halloween Tablescape
For the second installment of my Happy Hosting series, I decided that a fun Halloween tablescape would be so fun to create. As with my Fall Tablescape, I focused a lot on texture. I started with the table covering. I dropped into Joann to see what fabrics they had available in their seasonal section and found this great vintage looking pattern! I also picked up the black and grey striped fabric that was giving me major Addams Family vibes! DIY Halloween: Character Blocks
This has to be my favorite craft project of the bunch. These little character blocks turned out so cute! I hope you give them a try! Here’s what you’ll need: Square wooden dowel Acrylic paint (black, white, orange, green, purple) A piece of stick from the outdoors (for the jack-o-lantern stem) Black pipe cleaners Paintbrush Hot glue/hot glue gun Cut 5 2″ pieces from the wooden dowel. To save your arms, I recommend using an electric saw but I used a hand saw for these. Paint each block in a different color. I did two coats on these. The inspiration for this project came from Pinterest! I think the glow of candles instantly makes things feel cozy which is what you want this time of year! I used these glass hurricane candle holders that I picked up at the dollar store but a mason jar would work just as well! These flameless candles are from Amazon!
